The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Turnpikes, seeks a full-time Highway Maintainer III in Merrimack, NH. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining heavy highway equipment, supervising crews, and performing winter maintenance and emergency response as needed.

Minimum qualifications include equivalent 1 year of education/experience after high school and a CDL-A with tank endorsement. CDL-B with releasable upgrade may be considered as trainee pathway.

Qualifications

• Must have experience operating highway maintenance equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required with tank endorsement.
• MVR must meet DOT standards; pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsabilités

• Operates and troubleshoots complex highway maintenance equipment and vehicles used for maintenance and construction.
• Performs snow removal, ice control, and flood mitigation tasks.
• Maintains equipment and performs repairs to ensure serviceability.
• Supervises entry-level workers and small crews to ensure safety and proper methods.
• Responds to winter maintenance or traffic emergencies on a 24-hour basis as needed.
