State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Turnpikes, seeks a Highway Maintainer III in Hooksett. The role operates heavy highway maintenance equipment, performs repairs, and supports winter plowing and traffic services.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• License/Certification: Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (CDL-A), with no air brake restrictions and tank endorsement.
• Other Requirements: May require CDL medical card and DOT safety requirements.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs intermittently.

Responsabilités

• Operates and troubleshoots complex highway maintenance equipment used on the State Highway System.
• Maintains equipment and performs field adjustments and emergency repairs.
• Assesses winter road conditions and determines plowing and abrasives actions per safety policies.
• Supervises and trains entry-level personnel and small crews to ensure safety and best practices.
• Responds to winter maintenance and traffic emergencies 24/7 year-round.
