Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California required.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in roadway/highway construction inspection.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis and structural mechanics.
• Experience with concrete and steel materials in road/bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assure quality on highway and roadway construction projects.
• Determine if completed work complies with plans and specs.
• Coordinate with contractor and public utilities agencies.
• Maintain records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate with general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Assist in inspections for compliance with contract provisions on bridges, foundations, walls, shoring, and drainage.
• Make or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
• Prepare contract change orders, estimates, and required project documents.
• Coordinate sampling and testing of construction materials for spec compliance.
• Monitor/track contractor progress; produce daily, weekly, monthly reports.
