Job summary

Accenture Construct is seeking an experienced licensed Professional Engineer for onsite construction inspection roles in California. You will lead quality assurance on highway projects, verify plans compliance, coordinate with contractors and utilities, and support change orders and material testing across structural components.

Ideal candidates bring extensive Caltrans project exposure, deep stress analysis knowledge, and a track record in major public works.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
• Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects for upcoming efforts.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
• Maintain records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans and provisions across bridges, foundations, walls, and drainage structures.
• Make or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
• Assist in preparation of change orders, estimates, and related reports; coordinate sampling and testing of construction materials.
