Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks a High Voltage Substation Inspector to perform field inspections around Reno/Las Vegas, NV, with up to 100% travel. Mobilization to/from project sites is provided.

The role supports engineers and project managers by ensuring construction compliance and generating precise documentation. You will collect data from multiple sources, use survey tools, and contribute to risk assessment and project planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 9+ years post-education experience in a related discipline with prior construction inspection.
• 5+ years of active field experience; proficient with Word/Excel.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Knowledge of construction inspection principles, codes, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections for construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Create accurate documentation including reports, drawings, and calculations.
• Work alone or as part of a cross-functional team; lead tasks when needed.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and respond to contractor questions.
• Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning, and problem solving.
• Coordinate field/site work, staffing, and equipment utilization.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level inspection staff.
• Engage with clients and contractors to schedule inspections.
• Travel and extended assignments may run up to 6 weeks per project.
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance with company policies.
