Job summary

Holt CAT in Irving, Texas is seeking an experienced Shop Service Technician IV for the day shift to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered heavy construction equipment following established procedures. This mid-level role requires extensive hands-on knowledge and self-motivation.

You will work with CAT ET and CAT SIS 2.0, read schematics, mentor others, and ensure safe, quality repairs while maintaining documentation and timely communication with shop management.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability to read/use schematics and diagrams experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling
• Rebuilds, repairs, reconditions, and maintains construction equipment and components
• Plans and controls cost of repair jobs
• Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
• Provides mentoring and training to others
• Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
