Job summary

HOLT CAT is seeking a Shop Service Technician IV in Irving, TX, to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered heavy construction equipment. The role supports customer needs, mentors others, and emphasizes safe, high‑quality work.

The mid‑level position requires extensive experience and knowledge of heavy equipment, with a path toward advanced responsibilities in the MAC department. Onsite, regular hours, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of diesel-powered heavy construction equipment repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to read/use schematics and diagrams (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Graduation from a diesel technology program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized tooling.
• Rebuilds, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
• Maintains all equipment and work areas in good, clean, and orderly condition.
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner.
• Works overtime and adapts to workload and customer needs.
