Job summary

Republic Services in Evansville, IN seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. You will service chassis, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, and driveline components, supporting drivers on routes with state-of-the-art equipment.

With 5-7 years of heavy truck tech experience, you will diagnose multi-system issues, perform inspections, and advance your skills through company training and hands-on work on

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some heavy truck systems.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• Preferred CDL B

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge and strong skill proficiency in vehicle components and systems, performing complex repairs.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; Air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Fuel systems diagnostics and diesel emissions understanding.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• HVAC diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems diagnostics and repairs.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identify malfunction sources with electronic tools.
• Complete company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
