Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst. The role is fully remote with responsibilities including converting vendor specifications into data mapping documents, and ensuring data is properly integrated and validated within the enterprise analytics ecosystem.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in analytics or related field and at least 3 years of data analysis experience, with advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Databricks skills. A strong focus on healthcare data domains is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, informatics, business, public health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data mapping, ETL, data warehouse, or related data environments.
• Experience developing source-to-target mapping documentation, business requirements, and technical specifications.
• Ability to interpret source system documentation, file specifications, data dictionaries and requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and documentation or collaboration platforms such as SharePoint, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Looking for someone who solves business problems with data.
• Experience supporting QA, UAT, production implementation, and post-deployment validation activities.
• Experience working with healthcare, payer, claims, enrollment, provider, or other regulated data domains.

Responsibilities

• Converts vendor file specifications, layouts, and business requirements into detailed data mapping documentation aligned with EDP structures and business rules.
• Serves as a liaison among business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure proper data integration, transformation, validation, and delivery.
• Supports data quality and data stewardship functions to maintain data accuracy.
• Uses analytic skills to provide data-driven conclusions and recommendations to business partners.
