St. Joseph's College of Nursing is seeking an experienced health information professional to support coding audits, education, and compliance initiatives. The role focuses on analyzing complex documentation, identifying risks, and guiding leadership with actionable insights.

The incumbent will train staff, ensure accuracy and compliance with CPT/ICD-10/HCC guidelines, and contribute to performance improvement projects impacting reimbursement and patient care quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, and HCC guidelines.
• 5+ years of professional coding experience including surgical procedures; 2 years auditing/education.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides high level technical competency and subject matter expertise analyzing coding and documentation review for complex services.
• Conducts comprehensive audits of professional coders and providers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, HCC and payer guidelines.
• Analyzes documentation and coding patterns to identify risks related to compliance and revenue integrity.
• Provides actionable feedback to providers, coders, and leadership to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Develops and delivers targeted education and training programs based on audit findings and regulatory updates.
• Provides training and onboarding to new audit and education of colleagues and providers.
• Maintains coding quality and productivity standards as established by Revenue Excellence and completes audit/education workplans.
