Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking an experienced coding auditor/educator to support complex services by reviewing documentation, ensuring CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS alignment, and driving education across providers and coders. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

The incumbent will lead audits, provide feedback to leadership, and develop training materials to improve quality, reduce risk, and enhance revenue integrity within the organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field; knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HCC.
• 5+ years of professional coding experience; 2 years auditing/education; RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC certification required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; CPMA/CRC/CDEO credentials a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level technical expertise in analyzing coding and documentation for complex services.
• Audit professional coders and providers for accuracy, compliance with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, HCC.
• Analyze documentation patterns to identify compliance, revenue integrity, and regulatory risks.
• Provide actionable feedback to providers, coders, and leadership to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Develop and deliver targeted education and training programs based on audits, regulatory updates, and knowledge gaps.
• Provide training and onboarding to new audit and education of colleagues and providers.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards as established by Revenue Excellence; complete audit/education workplan.
