• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in fast-paced, heavy phones environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review referral requests from primary care physicians and onsite specialists.
• Coordinate appointment date and time for patient.
• Inform patient of appointment date and time, prep requirements, and arrange transportation when necessary.
• Secure patient information and maintain patient confidential health information.
• Review open referral reports daily to ensure reports are received prior to PCP visits.
• Process a minimum of twenty referral orders per day.
• Process all referral authorizations per health plans protocol (Availity).
• Coordinate procedures required for surgical clearance and ensure documentation is forwarded to the appropriate offices.
• Schedule urgent referral appointments per request of PCP or onsite specialist.
• Inform PCP of missed appointments and reschedule as needed.
• Scan and index documents into the EHR and ensure availability of necessary notes.
• Participate in center/market interdisciplinary teams related to care plans.
• Aid coworkers to ensure smooth office operation and delivery of service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
