Job summary

RTX seeks a mid-career Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Andover, MA and Marlborough, MA. The role is onsite and focuses on comprehensive test support across development and production, including environmental and design verification tests.

You will lead test activities, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with design, structural analysis, and manufacturing teams, while supporting domestic and international factory testing.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and lab experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance; US citizenship required.
• Willingness to travel to domestic Raytheon sites, suppliers, and government facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan instrumentation and test conduct for hardware tests (vibration, shock, temperature, altitude).
• Acquire and analyze dynamic and thermal data.
• Collaborate with design, structural analysis, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior section members and lead test teams to milestones.
• Support factory and supplier testing domestically and internationally.
• Lead department processes and tools development for MA&T.
