Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks an experienced hardware test engineer to troubleshoot product hardware, plan spare/test equipment obsolescence, and develop cost estimates for capacity and obsolescence. The role leads projects to optimize test processes and maintains the test data package, supporting root cause analysis and risk reviews.

Required are a STEM degree with 3–5+ years of relevant experience and the ability to obtain ATF clearance. Relocation is eligible; benefits are provided by RTX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience with electrical/electronic testing.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and provides accurate rework instructions for the product hardware.
• Creation and maintenance of spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan.
• Creation of Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence.
• Leads projects to reduce test time, improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields.
• Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis.
• Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software.
• Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment.
• Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings, utilizing fault trees and knowledge point plans.
• Performs risk assessments and supports the programs risk register reviews.
• Leads projects and is responsible for execution.
