RTX is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers to design, develop, document, and sustain complex test environment systems for Raytheon Missile Defense products. You will mentor less experienced engineers and contribute through all phases of the lifecycle—from initial design to sustainment.

The role is 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ, with relocation offered. A DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required to support production verification and qualification testing in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Minimum 5 years with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO/ProE preferred).
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience creating mechanical drawings or engineering documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsabilités

• Create mechanical test systems used across vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF and electro‑optical environments.
• Build and validate test solutions delivering high accuracy in production settings.
• Diagnose production issues and recommend design improvements to elevate performance.
• Support and coach less experienced engineers across the lifecycle from design to sustainment.
