Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains for our Axon 911 hardware platforms.

This hybrid role collaborates with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to define requirements and drive cross-functional design decisions. Relocation assistance is available; fully remote eligibility is evaluated case-by-case.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware engineering experience with system architecture ownership.
• Experience delivering compact, connected hardware from concept to mass production.
• Deep expertise in RF/antenna integration, power, thermal, EMI/EMC, and enclosure design.
• Ability to define system requirements and validation plans across US and international standards.
• Experience working with ODM/JDM or contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with hardware design, simulation, testing and lifecycle tools (Altium, Cadence, SolidWorks/Creo/NX, PLM/BOM).
• Strong communication of technical risk to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and software domains.
• Build system diagrams and interaction models to guide implementation.
• Analyze power, thermal, and computational budgets and balance performance vs cost.
• Lead cross-discipline design reviews and drive stakeholder alignment.
