Job summary

Axon seeks a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains for Axon 911 hardware. You will define standards, drive engineering processes, and partner with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to deliver production-ready devices, with hybrid onsite work at hubs in NYC, Boston, or Scottsdale and relocation support.

This role shapes design reviews, risk management, and certification strategies to balance performance, size and cost

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience with cross-disciplinary systems.
• Proven ability to own system architecture and cross-domain decisions.
• Experience taking compact, battery-powered hardware from concept to production.
• Familiarity with hardware design tools and regulatory certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and verify against test targets.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews with EE, RF, ME, SW leads.
• Balance power, thermal, size, and cost while meeting deadlines.
• Own system verification, risk analysis, and certification readiness.
