Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains within Axon 911. You will drive technical standards, architecture, and processes for mass production, partnering with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to shape requirements and cross‑functional decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Owning system architecture and cross-disciplinary decisions for complex hardware.
• Track record of taking compact, connected, battery-powered hardware from concept to mass production.
• RF/antenna integration, power architecture, thermal management, EMI/EMC, enclosure design, and tolerances.
• Developing system requirements and validation plans with hardware certifications.
• Working with ODM/JDM or contract manufacturers.
• Experience with hardware design tools (Altium/Cadence), CAD/PLM, and test equipment.
• Communicating technical risk to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-disciplinary design reviews and secure stakeholder buy-in.
• Resolve competing engineering constraints and provide direction to EE, RF, and ME leads.
• Own system-level verification and validation strategy; mitigate risks early.
• Partner with ODM/JDM and manufacturing on DFM/DFA and production readiness.
• Oversee regulatory certification strategy across U.S. and international standards.
• Travel required ~10–20% and hybrid work at regional hubs.
