Job summary

Axon in New York City is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains. You will lead as a founding leader within the Axon 911 hardware team, defining standards and driving design decisions that scale to mass production.

This role requires travel up to 50% and a hybrid schedule with onsite work at regional hubs in NY, Boston, or Scottsdale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience in complex, integrated hardware.
• Proven ownership of system architecture and cross-disciplinary decisions.
• Experience bringing compact, battery-powered hardware from concept to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architecture with design, RF, mechanical, software, and product teams.
• Write and vet system requirements with clear targets.
• Lead cross-disciplinary design reviews and drive stakeholder buy-in.
• Own verification and validation strategy; manage risk and schedules.
