Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains. You will drive standards, architecture, and processes to scale hardware for mass production, collaborating with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to unify subsystems.

Travel ~10–20% and a hybrid work location with onsite hubs in New York City, Boston, or Scottsdale. Relocation support is available; remote eligibility may apply in some cases.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Ownership of system architecture and cross‑disciplinary technical decisions.
• Experience taking compact, connected, battery‑powered hardware from concept through mass production.
• Familiarity with hardware design, simulation, testing, and lifecycle tools such as Altium/Cadence, SolidWorks/Creo/NX.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architecture with consideration for electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and software.
• Define system requirements and verify traceability.
• Lead cross‑discipline design reviews and drive stakeholder buy‑in.
• Own system verification and risk mitigation through V&V and certification.
