Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. The role includes evaluation, custom orthosis fabrication, and developing recovery plans in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting.

The therapist will supervise OT Assistants and students, fabricate orthoses, and manage post-surgical and injury rehabilitation while delivering patient-centered care with a focus on outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand/upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions
