Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to provide focused rehabilitation for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. The role includes patient evaluation, custom splinting, and developing recovery plans, with opportunities to supervise students and staff in an outpatient setting.

You will collaborate with hand surgeons and therapists, fabricate orthoses, educate patients, and participate in post-surgical rehab while promoting best practices in upper-extremity care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments to establish a plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions.
• Document delivery of occupational therapy services.
• Directs and supervises assistants, students, and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, therapists, and other professionals.
