Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks an experienced Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You’ll evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and craft custom orthoses to aid healing and function.

The role requires 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, a licensed PT or OT, and a CHT credential. Collaborative care with surgeons and therapists is essential, with opportunities for teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments; establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT assistants, students, and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
