Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Ground Test Engineer to lead ground test events at Edwards AFB, CA. You will coordinate with engineers and technicians, develop procedures, and supervise test activities on the flight line and test range.

The role requires 8+ years in STEM engineering, active Secret clearance, and strong communication skills to liaise with maintenance, mission control, and leadership. Willingness to travel and work various shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM).
• A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with a BS, 6 years with MS or 4 years with PhD in STEM.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees and management at all levels.
• Must have an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher.
• Must be able to obtain Program Access (PAR) within company timelines.
• Willingness to work overtime, odd‑hour shifts, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ground test procedures and support active flight line testing.
• Conduct preflight and postflight power on checks.
• Provide first line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications to systems under test.
• Provide supervision and direction to maintenance personnel for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to systems under test.
• Analyze and interpret test data, and provide recommendations to engineering and leadership.
• Coordinate with support organizations for developmental test program planning and execution.
• Support post-test data processing and analysis to meet test objectives.
