Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Senior Principal Ground Test Engineer to lead ground test events at Edwards AFB, CA. You will work with REs and STEs to develop procedures, operate test articles, and troubleshoot anomalies on and off the flight line.

Responsibilities include planning test conduct, preparing worksheets, briefs, and directing a mixed team of engineers and technicians through tests. A 4x10 or 3x10 schedule may apply, with travel and extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) is required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience with a BS, 6+ years with an MS, or 4+ years with a PhD in STEM field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher.
• Ability to obtain and maintain PAR (Program Access) as required by the company.
• Willingness to work overtime, odd-hour shifts, and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ground test procedures and support active flight line testing.
• Conduct preflight and postflight power-on checks.
• Provide first-line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications to systems under test.
• Provide supervision and direction to maintenance personnel for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to systems under test.
• Analyze and interpret test data, provide recommendations for alternative means of compliance as required.
• Coordinate with support organizations in the execution and planning of a developmental test program.
• Provide support for post-test data processing and analysis as required to support test objectives.
