Job summary

Northrop Grumman at Edwards AFB, CA seeks a Senior Principal Ground Test Engineer to lead ground test events. The role collaborates with REs and STEs to develop procedures, operate test articles, and troubleshoot anomalies.

Expect coordination as test conductor on/off active flight lines and leadership of engineers and technicians during tests. Selected candidate will ensure test planning, briefs, data analysis, and cross‑functional communication across maintenance, engineering, and mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM or higher required.
• 8+ years with BS, 6+ with MS, or 4+ with PhD in STEM.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees and management at all levels.
• Must have an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ground test procedures and support active flight line testing.
• Conduct preflight and postflight power on checks.
• Provide first line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications to systems under test.
• Provide supervision and direction to maintenance personnel for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to systems under test.
• Analyze and interpret test data, provide recommendations to engineering and leadership for alternate means of compliance as required.
• Coordinate with support organizations in the execution and planning of a developmental test program.
• Provide support for post-test data processing and analysis as required to support test objectives.
