Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is hiring a Protection & Controls Engineering Manager who will lead protection design and coordination analyses for transmission systems. You will work on overcurrent, distance, differential, and communication-aided protection, ensuring compliance with NERC PRC standards.

The role requires a PE license in TX, IL, or CA, 8+ years in protection and planning, and experience with major protection tools. Remote US work with travel.

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer in TX, IL or CA.
8+ years of system protection and control experience.
Strong foundation in transmission protection and planning.
Experience with protection software and relay settings.

Responsibilities

Perform system protection and coordination studies for transmission and generation interconnections.
Provide guidance on protection philosophies and standards to clients.
Develop and apply protection settings for 69 kV–500 kV systems.
Review outages and diagnose protection-related issues; ensure reliability.
