Job summary

Mistral is seeking an experienced engineer to design and ship the Kubernetes control plane for a sovereign AI cloud. You will own the architecture and deployment of the on‑premise and on‑demand compute layer, including GPU support for training and inference.

The role involves close collaboration with product teams to balance technical and business tradeoffs. You should have shipped production Go services, built or operated Kubernetes components, and have strong Linux fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Experience running Kubernetes in production and familiarity with operators, schedulers, and controllers.
• Hands-on Linux experience beyond managed services.
• Ability to work with product, design, and business teams to ship end users.
• A low-ego, team-first mindset and collaboration across orgs.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane and its scheduling stack.
• Own reliability of the control plane and respond to incidents at 3am.
• Automate cluster provisioning to minimize manual tickets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to set priorities and tradeoffs.
• Elevate engineering standards through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
