Job summary

Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe. You will lead the Kubernetes product end to end: a metal-to-on-demand platform built on in-house infrastructure, with GPU support for training, inference, and general-purpose compute.

This role blends architecture decisions with people leadership: roughly half your time on technical problems and half on coaching and growth. You will help scale the control plane from today’s footprint to a future with millions of users.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of real people leadership.
• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Run Kubernetes in anger and ideally built parts of it.
• Experience with GPU workloads on Kubernetes or ability to own that domain fast.
• Extensive experience building backend or infrastructure systems.
• Partnered with product, design, and business teams to ship software used by real users.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane; own architecture and the hardest implementation decisions.
• Grow the engineers; set ownership standards and coach them to ship impactful work.
• Own the reliability of the Kubernetes control plane; act during outages and lead learning.
• Shrink the distance from metal to on-demand; automate provisioning of clusters.
