Raytheon, the world’s leading aerospace and defense company, is hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control in Tucson, AZ.

The role focuses on embedded software algorithms, system-level performance, and agile development within a cross-functional team. You will evaluate, design, implement, and integrate flight software for 6-DOF simulations, contribute to tactical missile flight code, and work to meet performance requirements while collaborating with other engineers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.
• GNC, Signal Processing, and/or Modeling / Simulation experience
• Engineering experience in missile system applications including one of: Digital/modern control systems, Dynamics, Kalman filter design, Monte Carlo analysis, development/simulation of physical systems, signal processing, verification and validation, system-level performance assessments, GPS/INS navigation systems, APNT systems; experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or OO design; leadership experience in engineering environments; ability to obtain interim Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Development, integration, and testing of embedded tactical missile flight code
• Definition and execution of system level performance studies and analyses to inform development and integration of new capabilities
• Work within an agile framework to lead development of backlogs, plans, and metrics
• Provide experience and guidance to help the program train new engineers and execute efficiently
• Support missile performance analysis including model development, system optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances.
