Job summary

Raytheon’s Processing, Guidance, & Controls Center in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to advance guidance, navigation, and control for autonomous systems. This 100% on-site role supports multiple product lines and requires a DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will develop, simulate, and validate control algorithms, build models, and work with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and reliability in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems or related areas.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and OO design; strong modeling and simulation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, and evaluate control and navigation algorithms for autonomous systems.
• Build and use dynamic system models to evaluate behavior and optimize performance.
• Analyze test data to drive engineering improvements and validate system performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test teams to integrate complex systems.
• Create algorithms and simulation tools for performance-analysis of complex products.
