Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Senior Global Technical Training & Development Engineer to develop and deliver instructional solutions for leading-edge products. You will collaborate with internal experts to create and update global training materials and train Regional Engineering Trainers to support Field Service Engineers, Distributors and Customers.

The role emphasizes designing training around troubleshooting, software and networks, and business processes; updating materials as technology evolves;

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5+ years related experience with a BS; or 3+ years with MS; or PhD without experience.
• BS in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.
• Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a highly matrixed organization.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to work across multiple cross functional teams to execute on training and deliverables for various commercial projects.
• Willing to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop the global training strategy for implementation of new products
• Design and develop training materials dealing with troubleshooting computer systems, software, and networks and business processes related to a Field Service Engineer
• Represent commercial training on extended core teams to ensure training needs are addressed and met for execution on deliverables
• Facilitate training courses for internal customers that typically include technical presentations, demonstrations, hands‑on lab exercises, technical Q&A sessions, and student assessments
• Continuously update course materials to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology and products
• Author, review, and edit technical documents and presentation
