Job summary

Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking an experienced Senior Server Engineer to join the Global Server Technology Team in Culver City. You will install and configure virtualization technologies and OSs, establish standards, policies, and disaster recovery plans, and manage global server resources and performance metrics.

You will work with cloud services across AWS/Azure/GCP, write automation scripts, and collaborate with IT staff to maintain service levels and incident response.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in IT with a major systems/vendor
• Minimum 5 years deploying and managing Cloud Services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Minimum 5 years as Intel/x86 systems administrator
• Minimum 8 years Windows and Linux experience
• Minimum 3 years virtualization OS experience (VMware/PowerVM/Oracle VM)
• Minimum 3 years multi-tiered application development experience

Responsibilities

• Senior team member on Global Server Technology Team.
• Installations and configurations of virtualization technologies and OS.
• Establish standards for server hardware and operating systems.
• Establish server usage policies and communicate policies to audiences.
• Develop performance management procedures for server infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain server resources globally.
• Oversee IT staff relationships to ensure service levels.
• Handle outages, identify root cause and resolve server issues.
• Participate in daily production meetings to report status.
• Contribute to change control, production acceptance and event management.
