Job summary

Sphere Entertainment Co. is hiring a Senior System Development Engineer to join the Cloud Services team. You will design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure that enables Studio and Production workflows, writing the tools that glue these workflows together.

Candidates should have a proven history building secure cloud networks and services, particularly in large-scale VFX or post-production environments. The role emphasizes collaboration, IaC, and on-site execution.

Qualifications

• 8 years minimum experience in cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and maintenance.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container deployments.
• Proficiency across Linux, Windows, and MacOS.
• Experience with GCP and other cloud platforms.
• IaC tools such as Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi.
• Knowledge of REST, microservices, serverless, pub/sub patterns.
• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD.
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain production applications, services, and datastores.
• Design, deploy, and monitor cloud infrastructure for Production workflows.
• Migrate legacy on-prem services to cloud-based infrastructure.
• Lead collaboration between pipeline engineers, end users, and stakeholders.
• Shepherd and implement changes in an IaC deployment workflow.
• Monitor, refine, and optimize cloud service architecture and resource utilization.
• Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members on-site.
