Job summary

EY is seeking a General Ledger / Accounts Payable Senior Associate to support day-to-day GL and AP/expense processing. You will prepare journal entries, run close activities, promote compliance, and assist audits with cross‑functional collaboration across finance teams.

The role emphasizes accuracy, process improvement, and adherence to policies and regulations. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience), 4–6 years in accounting, Costpoint

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of related accounting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Deltek Costpoint required.
• Experience with government contracting.
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable and expense processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and lookup functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger account structures, organizations and related system configurations.
• Ensure transactions comply with GAAP, FAR, CAS and EY policies.
• Review journal entry requests for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules by deadlines.
• Maintain audit-ready journal entry documentation.
• Research, analyze and resolve accounting issues with stakeholders.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Execute subperiod-end, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Identify issues affecting financial accuracy or close timelines.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Monitor the GL inbox and coordinate with process owners.
• Collaborate with G&I Finance, Compliance and stakeholders on accounting treatment.
• Participate in testing and implementation of Costpoint enhancements.
• Develop and maintain reconciliation templates and desktop procedures.
