Job summary

Cotulla Education is hiring a Senior General Ledger Accountant to support daily accounting operations, lead month-end close, and drive automation across a multi-entity, multi-campus system. You will report to the Controller and partner with FP&A to ensure accurate reporting and scalable processes.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, US GAAP expertise, NetSuite and Excel proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of in-house accounting experience.
• Big 4 public accounting experience a plus.
• Strong command of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with RAMP highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist in consolidating and reporting monthly financial data from multiple locations and campuses.
• Ensures accounting files and records are accurate and up to date.
• Record journal entries and support other month-end processes.
• Perform regular account reconciliations for transactions, reviewing balance sheet accounts, and identifying discrepancies.
