Job summary

Optro in the United States is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and prepare period-end analyses. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with US GAAP while supporting the cloud-based platform transforming audit, risk, compliance, and ESG management.

You will manage month-end close, journal entries, intercompany activity, and period-end analysis, while mentoring staff and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business/Finance with Accounting emphasis.
• Proficient in US GAAP and accrual basis accounting.
• 2-4 years total Accounting experience.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, including inter-company and international transactions.
• Software (SaaS) experience is preferred.
• Experience with a large ERP system, NetSuite is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, self-direction, and ability to effectively complete tasks.
• Strong aptitude for business software applications and advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
• Natural inclination to problem solve and analyze financial information.
• Ability to manage time effectively to re-prioritize workload to achieve accurate results and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate month-end close by preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements for internal and external parties.
• Support flux analysis and tell the month-end story.
• Ensure US GAAP compliance in all accounting practices.
• Coordinate with departments to gather transaction info and resolve reconciling items.
• Provide backup for reporting, FP&A, and operations as needed.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects and management inquiries.
• Contribute to developing and implementing accounting procedures and systems.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting processes.
• Assist with annual audits with external auditors.
• Mentor and review work of junior staff.
