Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for the General Ledger team to own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements. You will partner with Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance to ensure accurate recording and reporting, while contributing to automation and AI-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a public company.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP with accrual accounting and month-/quarter-/year-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel, plus ability to handle large data sets and complex reconciliations.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to accelerate tasks and improve workflows.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy; public accounting firm experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 and ASC 350-40 (IUS/CCA accounting) with preference for SaaS/tech exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA).
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and allocations, with solid supporting documentation.
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts in line with US GAAP.
• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses and partner with FP&A on explanations.
• Support financial reporting cycles with P&L summaries, variances, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX controls, and accounting policies; participate in control testing.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; assist audit activities and PBC schedules.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to evaluate AI-driven tools and ERP improvements.
