Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for the General Ledger team to own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements. You’ll partner with Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance in a remote-first environment to ensure accurate recording, reporting, and process automation across the close cycle.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible accounting experience, including public company exposure.
• Experience with accrual accounting, cost allocations, and month/quarter/year-end closes.
• Familiarity with SOX controls and internal controls over financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software (IUS and CCA) per ASC 350-40.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting docs and improve automated processes.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts per US GAAP and resolve reconciling items.
• Perform monthly/quarterly variance analyses with FP&A and explain material fluctuations.
• Support financial reporting cycles with PBC schedules, P&L summaries, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies, plus SOX controls and testing.
• Contribute to close processes and audits; coordinate evidence gathering with internal/external teams.
• Collaborate with IT to evaluate AI-driven tools and ERP improvements; participate in testing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation across GL activities.
