Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant on the General Ledger team to own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including IUS and CCA, and contribute to close processes, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity.

In this remote-first, hybrid-friendly role, you will collaborate with Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance to ensure accurate recordings, leverage AI-driven tools, and drive automation in a fast-paced public company environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a public company environment.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP with accrual accounting, cost allocations, and month-/quarter-/year-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel, handling large data sets.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to speed accounting tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume close.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy; public accounting background preferred.
• Experience with SOX 404 compliance and ASC 350-40 (IUS/CCA) ideally with SaaS/tech teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA).
• Post journal entries including accruals and allocations with supporting docs.
• Maintain/reconcile balance sheet accounts per US GAAP and resolve items.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analyses with FP&A.
• Support financial reporting packages and schedules.
• Ensure controls compliance and assist with audits and SOX testing.
• Contribute to monthly/quarterly/annual close and audit activities.
• Collaborate on AI-driven tools and ERP improvements with Finance/IT.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data quality.
