AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Professional and Laboratory Manager to lead design, investigation, analysis, and operation of tailings storage facilities and mining projects in the Salt Lake City area.

The role combines project leadership, laboratory program management, QA/QC, and client communications, with emphasis on defensible engineering and data integration into design workflows.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Provides project leadership in design, investigation, analysis, construction and operation of Tailings Storage Facilities and mining projects.
• Develop project proposals and support growth of the practice with mining leadership.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of engineering projects focused on tailings facilities.
• Manage laboratory testing programs, budgets, scopes and schedules.
• Assist engineers in development of testing programs for investigations and characterization.
• Perform and supervise advanced soil-mechanics tests including triaxial, direct simple shear, consolidation, cyclic shear, permeability.
• Oversee laboratory data management and integration with geotechnical databases.
• Lead activities with QA/QC and accreditation programs and audits.
• Client communication and technical reviews; provide mentorship to staff.
