Equilibrium is a specialist technical consultancy serving the global mining and natural resources sectors. We are seeking a senior Geotechnical Engineer/Geotechnical Lead to deliver tailings and mine waste projects with technical leadership and client relationship responsibilities.

You will lead investigations and design, mentor staff, and contribute to business growth while promoting best practices and safety across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering or mine waste experience.
• Experience designing tailings dams, waste rock spoils, or co-management structures.
• Experience in dam safety reviews or Engineer of Record role is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project delivery skills.
• Bi‑lingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations, design, and delivery of tailings and mine waste projects.
• Provide technical direction and ensure quality across projects.
• Perform dam safety evaluations and risk-informed recommendations.
• Mentor junior staff and develop technical leaders.
• Manage client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to proposals and business development.
