Job summary

Ausenco is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mine Waste Solutions Team in Denver. You will lead geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting for tailings storage facilities and related mine infrastructure, while mentoring junior staff and engaging in site investigations and client collaboration.

The role requires a 10+ year background, a Civil Engineering background, and strong report writing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
From 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, with PE certification as a valuable asset.
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field preferred.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Familiarity with international tailings management standards.
Proven experience in designing tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, heap leach facilities and related mine infrastructure.
Expertise in dam stability analysis, water management, and civil design principles.
Proficiency in GeoStudio, Slide, PLAXIS (or similar), and Autodesk Civil 3D is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Conduct geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting for tailings facilities and related mine infrastructure.
Participate in geotechnical site investigations and lab testing programs.
Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
Manage design drawings and specifications from scoping through detailed design and construction.
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely project execution.
Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
Travel to client sites in the USA and internationally as needed.
