Job summary

WSP in Southampton is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects across major infrastructure and development schemes.

You will develop ground models, oversee geotechnical design and analyses, manage delivery, and mentor engineers while sustaining client relationships and business development efforts in a collaborative, global firm.

Qualifications

• Strong background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and ground risk management.
• Experience delivering complex geotechnical design and analysis across sectors.
• Ability to lead technical delivery and manage project risks with QA oversight.
• Strong commercial awareness with project management and fee control.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical projects and provide oversight.
• Develop ground models, assessments and design solutions for diverse projects.
• Perform advanced geotechnical analysis for foundations, earthworks and slopes.
• Manage project delivery including schedule, budget and risk management.
• Lead client relationships and support business development activities.
