Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer to lead geotechnical projects within its Construction Materials Testing group. You will manage diverse, long-term projects, provide expert data interpretation, and mentor junior staff on complex investigations.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with a geotechnical focus, PE licensure in the Southeast, and 6–8 years of related experience. Occasional travel and strong regulatory knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus; Master's preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in SC or NC, with ability to license in additional southeastern states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design, construction requirements, and geosynthetics.
• Able to travel up to 10% for site meetings, marketing, seminars, and client development in the southeastern US.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, subsurface geology, soil/rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and site assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert interpretation of analytical data for a wide variety of projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection; assign soils laboratory testing.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for clients and regulators.
• Ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality in deliverables.
• Lead complex environmental investigations and remediation projects using advanced geotechnical knowledge.
• Manage multiple projects with quality, budget, and schedule compliance; direct field operations and subcontractor oversight.
