Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead geotechnical projects within our Construction Materials Testing group. You will manage complex investigations, mentor junior staff, and deliver technically sound reports for municipal, industrial, residential and commercial clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and staying current with evolving geotechnical standards while supporting client development and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus (Masters preferred).
• 6–8 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in SC or NC; ability to become licensed in SE states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design, construction, and geosynthetics.
• Travel up to 10% for site meetings, seminars, and client development.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert interpretation of analytical data for diverse projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and client presentations.
• Ensure technical accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Lead and mentor junior staff; manage multiple projects with budgeting and scheduling.
• Stay current with regulations, best practices, and laboratory testing procedures.
