Job summary

National Power, LLC is seeking a Generator Service Technician to join our Raleigh/Durham, NC market. You will maintain and repair generator sets (5–5000 kW) and related electrical equipment, troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches, and perform start-up/commissioning as needed.

The role requires travel to job sites, overnight stays, and staying prepared for field service from home. Strong communication and computer skills are essential, and training may be provided to support ongoing

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate degree in electrical/mechanical field preferred.
• Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
• Military electrical power production background preferred (e.g., USAF/USN roles).
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to report job status clearly.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel long distances with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair generators 5–5000 kW and parallel systems; troubleshoot ATS including bypass isolation and closed transition types; perform preventive maintenance and warranty work; startup/commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel or gaseous engines (ignition components, injection systems, valve adjustments).
• Perform load bank testing to verify operating conditions and code compliance.
• Assist other technicians on large multi-person jobs or complex issues.
