Job summary

Travelers in Morristown, NJ seeks a Major Case Specialist in General Liability to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve high-exposure claims. You’ll serve as a technical resource to claim professionals and customers, with opportunities for bonus based on performance.

Responsibilities include managing complex cases end-to-end, coordinating with legal and underwriting, and maintaining meticulous records while leveraging new AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Five plus years of complex bodily injury claim and litigation experience.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software; strong MS Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to synthesize complex information.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims through resolution within authority.
• Conduct detailed investigations, gather evidence, assess liability, and establish reserves.
• Evaluate information to determine coverage and resolution options.
• Negotiate with claimants and legal representatives for fair settlements.
• Develop advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources for investigations.
• Prepare detailed reports on claim status and trends for senior management.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting and other departments to ensure coordinated handling.
• Support litigation management with Counsel; manage records and communications.
• Adopt new technologies and AI tools while maintaining productivity.
• Obtain and maintain required insurance licenses within three months.
