Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Major Case Specialist, General Liability to oversee high-exposure injury and property damage claims from initial report through resolution. You will lead investigations, coordinate with counsel, and negotiate resolutions, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Five plus years of complex bodily injury claim and litigation experience.
• Active adjuster license, where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management software, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims through resolution.
• Conduct detailed investigations, assess liability, determine damages, and establish reserves.
• Evaluate claim information to make informed coverage and resolution decisions.
• Negotiate with claimants and other parties to achieve fair resolutions.
• Develop and execute advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources for investigations and evaluations.
• Prepare reports on claim status, trends and outcomes for senior management.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting, and other departments for coordinated handling.
• Partner with Counsel to develop litigation strategies and manage litigation.
• Maintain thorough records of all activities and communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve best practices and adapt to new technology deployments.
