Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Major Case Specialist in a hybrid role spanning Morristown, NY, and Melville, NY. You will independently manage high-exposure injury and property-damage claims through resolution, conduct thorough investigations, and coordinate with counsel to shape litigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of complex bodily injury claim and litigation experience.
• Active adjuster license, where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software; advanced MS Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills for settlements and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims from first notice to resolution.
• Conduct detailed investigations to gather evidence and assess liability.
• Evaluate claim information to make informed coverage decisions.
• Engage in negotiations with claimants, legal representatives, and other parties for fair resolutions.
• Develop and execute advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on claim status and trends to senior management.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting, and other departments for coordinated handling.
• Work with Counsel to develop litigation strategies and manage proceedings.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all claim activities and communications.
• Identify improvements and adapt to new technology and AI tools while maintaining productivity.
